The South Africa Travel Company (South Africa travel site ) is owned and run by Jason and Nicola Wiltshire. We were both born and raised in Cape Town and created our inbound tourism company 10 years ago after traveling extensively throughout South Africa and our neighboring countries.
Our love and knowledge of the numerous and varied cultures together with the history, the wildlife and the incredibly diverse regions of South Africa was the motivation to terminate our respective careers in engineering and interior design to start The South African Travel Company.Nicola is the communications director, dealing with client correspondence, itinerary planning and leading the office team.I am a registered tour guide (satour) and operations directer,co-ordinating our tour guides, taking care of our guests on the road as well as managing tours, transfers and overland excursions . Our business developed out of a desire for you, our valued client to experience the magic of this country on the strength of our knowledge, insight and passion.

COSTS - The South Africa Travel Company is a solely owned South African business and this allows us to purchase all our accommodation,safari packages and all other tourist related products at substantially reduced rates. This fact together with the on going business relationships that we have forged over ten years, enables us to pass onto you, rates that are unattainable via online booking or through overseas based travel operators/agents. The other major benefit of using a South African based tour operator is that we operate and manage all our itineraries and day tours ourselves. Foreign travel companies who subcontract your holiday have little or no control over their selected operator on the ground in South Africa and this places you in a vulnerable position if things go wrong . You are also then incurring the costs of two or more operator’s profit margins.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE -When you plan and book your holiday through The South Africa Travel Company,you benefit from the knowledge and experience of a management team with ten years experience in the industry.It is extremely important for us as owners to evaluate the places of accommodation and safari lodges that we include in your itinerary. In this way we are able to ensure that the standard of service provided by staff and management at each property is of the highest level. These site inspections form part of our ongoing service excellence management program, as we believe that each aspect of your holiday requires perfection, and we inspect each property regularly.
All of our tour guides have completed the accredited South African Tourism Course (THETA ) and are handpicked by us to form part of our dynamic team.Their knowledge of Southern African fauna,flora,history,geography and culture gained over many years of guiding is eloquently passed on to you during your stay.
If you are planning a self-drive holiday through parts of our country (ie Garden Route ) then our experience and information provided, will enable you to plan a route ,using the most scenic roads and also giving you sufficient time to reach your destinations. All self-drive guests are met at the airport and provided with their travel information package which includes: Vouchers for the accommodation we secure for you, Car hire confirmations,Domestic flight confirmations if applicable, your detailed itinerary and maps.
COMMUNICATION -Our energetic team realises the importance of prompt response times ,so all your correspondence is dealt with quickly and efficiently.We communicate with our clients via email and through telephone calls ,as it is vitally important to talk to you in order to create your ideal holiday.Our offices are open 24 hours per day,7 days a week,so as to accommodate time zones and office hours.Telephone calls assist us when planning your itinerary,as we have a clearer idea of your preferences and areas of interest.In turn you are also able to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding as well as a sense of personal contact with us.
